September is national suicide prevention awareness month, which helps promote information on how to get the proper help and resources about suicide. It also brings awareness to those who are living with loved ones who have had suicidal thoughts, how to talk to them about their thoughts and get them the help they need. One thing you can do is help your loved one create a safety plan.
Suicidal thoughts can affect anyone of any age, gender or background. Suicide is the third leading cause of death amongst young people and is often the result of mental health concerns.
This month is a time to come together to end the stigma against mental health and support those living with suicide thoughts.
